Day 15 — Temperance
22-days of Tarot: Returning to self-trust
Tarot is a cyclical map that guides us back to ourself over and over again.
Temperance is integration. It’s the slow blending of what once felt separate (all the parts of you). Returning to self-trust isn’t a single breakthrough — it’s a rhythm you return to. This card teaches regulation: the ability to come back to center again and again.
Temperance asks for devotion to the middle path — not the extremes of overdoing or disappearing.
This is the pattern many of us swing between when we don’t fully trust ourselves yet:
Overdoing is when your nervous system tries to earn safety through effort. You push, fix, optimize, explain, keep going. Even “healing” can become a task you grip too tightly.
Disappearing is the other swing: you shut down, numb out, avoid, ghost your needs, postpone your truth. You go quiet — not from peace, but from overwhelm.
Temperance is the medicine that says: you don’t have to swing.
You can choose the place in the middle where you stay connected to yourself.
You learn to hold your life with gentleness and consistency.
Meaning: you stop treating your needs like emergencies or inconveniences. You respond to yourself in small, steady ways — before things become a crisis. Instead of huge bursts of effort followed by collapse, you practice the kind of care you can actually sustain: a few minutes of regulation, a simple boundary, one honest choice, repeated.
Healing becomes something that can stay.
Because it’s not built on intensity. It’s built on capacity.
Temperance creates healing that lives inside your real life — on messy days, busy weeks, tender seasons — because it’s shaped to fit your nervous system. It’s the difference between a breakthrough that evaporates and a rhythm that becomes your new normal.
Reflection: What pace allows me to stay connected to myself?
Somatic practice: Inhale for 4, exhale for 6. As you exhale, soften your jaw and belly. Feel yourself come back into balance.
Mantra: I return to center with ease.
Thank you for being here.
If this landed, let it be simple.
Quick start (2 steps):
Choose one line from today that felt true in your body.
Repeat today’s somatic practice + mantra for 3 days. (Repetition builds safety faster than “doing it all.”)
Next best step (optional):
If you want gentle, consistent nervous system support between posts, my Somatic Video Library Membership ($17/month) is a low-pressure way to keep practicing with me in real time.
